Hola hola, welcome to the show. My name is Addison–you can call me Addy. I am a fourth-year medical student at Oklahoma State University, about 2 months out from officially being a doctor! I am more than just a future physician though. I am also a dog mom of 3: Rowan the chocolate lab, Higgins the silver sable German shepherd, and Mojo Jojo the pug. I love doing crafts, reading books, traveling, and listening to and reading true crime!
If you’re wondering what the heck you’re doing here, let me explain myself…
I started blogging in 2014, during my freshman year of college, as a way to organize my thoughts and provide some sense of therapy for myself. I wrote some things, started sharing them, and people enjoyed them so I kept writing. I took a break from the public share space for a while. I thought during medical school I would document my journey through a blog but I never committed because it was time-consuming and I wasn’t convinced anyone actually cared. Now that I am wrapping up medical school, I decided it was time to give it a go. I’ve come to terms with the fact that this space may not be right for everyone, but that’s okay!
I am a future doctor, a dog mom, amateur cook, quilter, macrame-er, embroiderer, videogamer, reader, true crime enthusiast, baseball fan, guitar player, Jesus lover, former college golfer, and I probably forgot a few, but I think you got the point. This blog is going to encompass all of those things in some capacity. The focus of this blog is the journey, not the destination. There will be hard topics, disappointments, celebrations, and more. I can’t promise you’re going to love every post but I can promise one thing…
It’s going to be a lot like me–imperfect, but genuine.
